Question: Help - moving from Denver to Tucson and worried about pets (Scorpions, heat, lack of grass, etc). Any advice? These are my babies, and they have very little to worry about in Colorado!

Answer:  My family, frieds and I have had dogs here for years. My grandparents moved to Tucson from 'up north' and their old dog adjusted just fine.

It is hot here for sure, but keep them (and you) out of the mid day summer heat and you will all do fine I'm sure

No problem! Keep your pet out of the heat. Spray your yard. It depends on the kind of property you live on, but scorpions are found everywhere. My dog was messing with one last night and it tried to sting her several times w/o any luck on the scorpion's side. I pulled my dog away and killed the scorpion. It was the first one I've seen here and I've lived hear on this acre for over one and a half years. I have more problems with flies, moths, and neighboring people than anything else. Same with my dog.

Enjoy Tucson, beautiful place, but a bit dry, lately.
